Our history started in 1977 as a teenage student exchange program based in California with the aim of promoting cross-cultural understanding and education by providing opportunities for high school students to study abroad and experience different cultures firsthand. The program was designed to provide students with a comprehensive cultural immersion experience for one or two semesters in a High School, homestay with local families, and cultural activities and excursions.
Since its founding until 2015, World Experience moved thousands of students from around the world providing opportunities for American families to host international students and learn about other cultures and sending American High School students to more than 20 countries.
In 2016, World Experience (WE) changed its focus to grant scholarships to students with financial needs in order to help them to develop an exchange program with accredited institutions and started to operate as World Experience Scholarships (WES).
Overall, the organization has played an important role in promoting international understanding and friendship among people from different cultures and backgrounds, helping to build a more connected and compassionate global community.
